Cybersecurity Specialist MMOX Raises Millions in New Investment Round

The Hague, Netherlands – March 26, 2025 – MMOX, a leading cybersecurity specialist, has raised several million euros in a new investment round. This funding will be used to further develop MMOX’s ‘made in Europe’ cybersecurity solution. “With the current geopolitical uncertainties, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to rely on European solutions for their cybersecurity,” says Dick Berlijn, advisor to MMOX and former Chief of the Defence Staff.
MMOX is a fast-growing cybersecurity company that helps medium-sized enterprises stay one step ahead of cyber threats. These companies operate in various sectors, such as industry, wholesale, transport and logistics, high-tech, and business services. They often lack the resources to adequately protect themselves, despite facing the same cyber threats as large companies. MMOX Cyber Secure makes these businesses resilient against cyberattacks, focusing on protection and keeping cyber risks manageable.
A European Alternative
MMOX has grown into one of the larger Dutch cybersecurity specialists for medium-sized businesses. To continue protecting these organizations with a European alternative to the predominantly American providers, significant investment is being made in the renewal and expansion of MMOX Cyber Secure. “Especially in the current uncertain geopolitical circumstances, it’s good to be able to rely on a ‘made in Europe’ solution,” says MMOX CEO Maarten Maarten Roerink. “This new funding round contributes to this.”
“This is a significant investment for the Dutch cybersecurity sector,” emphasizes Roerink. “At the annual TechLeap event in February, Prince Constantijn of Orange and Prime Minister Dick Schoof already stated: the investment willingness in Dutch technology companies is far too low and needs a significant push. Fortunately, we are an exception to this rule. Thanks to the funds raised, we can continue to lead with our European solution in this rapidly changing security landscape, both in the Netherlands and with a view to other European markets.”
Rapid Cybersecurity Developments
Matthijs Blokker, one of the founders, says: “Medium-sized businesses often struggle with their cybersecurity. On top of that, developments are moving very fast. With the funding we’ve raised, we can make our solution even better at responding to this rapidly changing security landscape.”
MMOX’s strategic advisor, Dick Berlijn, who in his career in the Dutch armed forces learned the importance of good, proactive defense for the Netherlands and Europe, believes that Dutch cybersecurity providers have an important role in ensuring the security of Dutch businesses in the digital domain. “When you see how quickly geopolitical uncertainties can increase, it’s also important to be able to rely on homegrown technology. And continuing to invest in staying ahead with this technology is just as much a must.”
About This Investment Round
The lead party in this investment round is Axivate Capital. Existing MMOX investor Value Creation Capital (VCC) also participated in this round, along with the two founders and CEO Roerink, who joined at the end of 2023.
“MMOX operates in a fast-growing sector with a proven solution that is scalable. This made the investment interesting for us,” says Taco Kievit, partner at Axivate. Aldebert Wiersinga, partner at VCC, adds: “Since we came on board as investors, MMOX has increasingly fulfilled the vision of risk-based cybersecurity. We have a lot of confidence in MMOX’s future and its strengthened leadership, which is why we invested again in this round.”
